Dempster’s Country Originals Bread {Giveaway}

Last year, I came to the realization that my family eats a lot of bread. I felt as though I was running to the grocery store for bread every couple of days…because I actually was running to the store to purchase more bread every couple of days. My son lives on peanut butter sandwiches; my daughter lives on grilled cheese. This equals many loaves of bread a week.

I decided that I would take up baking my bread from scratch. And I did. For awhile. But the quantity of bread consumed in this house meant that I had to bake it daily, and that lost it’s romance after awhile. Which means that with the exception of special occasions, or specialty bread, I’m back to buying bread again. However, I do try to purchase the healthier bread options available to me.

Dempster’s, the bread brand that most Canadians know and love, recently introduced a new line of pantry breads called Dempster’s Country Originals. Dempster’s Country Originals loaves are completely free from artificial preservatives, artificial colours and artificial flavours. In addition, the bread contains no high fructose corn syrup and is made with 100% Canadian wheat. Nice.

Dempster’s Country Originals is available in white, as well as two whole grain varieties: 100% whole wheat and 12 grain. My family tried all three this week, and they all tasted just like you would expect fresh bread to taste – good. Although, I will admit that my family are pretty firmly entrenched into the 100% whole wheat camp when it comes to everyday bread.
