Something very exciting is happening this month on Disney Junior. My daughter, in particular, has been waiting for this big event ever since November when we were first introduced to the darling new Disney Princess, Sofia the First, in her television debut Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess. This month marks the premiere of the new Sofia the First television series and we have set our PVR to ensure that we don’t miss a minute of it.
Sofia wasn’t born a princess, she became one when her mother, Miranda, marries the king of Enchancia. In Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess, Sofia has a few stumbling blocks into learning how to be a princess, but in the end she learns how and becomes good friends with her new step-siblings, James and Amber.
Sofia isn’t the only princess airing on Disney Junior though. Both Cinderella and its sequel Cinderella II: Dreams Come True will also be showing this month which makes for a perfect time to gather with your family and share in the joy of watching one of Disney’s classic princesses.
Cinderella is one of my favourite classic Disney Princess films, and though I haven’t yet seen Cinderella II, I know that it features three short stories showing Cinderella planning a party, Jaq the mouse being turned into a human, and Anastasia, one of Cinderella’s stepsisters, falling in love with a young baker. I’m sure it will be a hit with my princess-loving daughter.
